Make the product page ready to buy
Start with the product a visitor will actually see after clicking. Check photos, price, stock, variant selection, delivery details and the purchase button. Complete a checkout on a phone and confirm the order reaches your store. An ad cannot fix a broken payment step or a missing shipping option. Use real product information for claims and discounts. If your page does not support a benefit or testimonial, leave it out of the ad.
Keep account access under your control
Identify the Meta business portfolio, Facebook Page and ad account you intend to use. Confirm that the person setting up the Shopify integration has the required access. Shopify's official setup guide lists the current requirements. If Flip manages a campaign in your own account, share the required partner access instead of giving anyone your password. Flip checks the ad account and Page connection before launch. Keep a record of which business owns each asset.
Review the existing Meta integration
Shopify provides Facebook and Instagram by Meta as a sales channel. Its setup and data-sharing options are documented in the Shopify Help Center. Before installing additional tags, check whether your store already has a Meta pixel connected. Multiple installations can create duplicate reporting. Data-sharing settings affect the information sent through the integration, so choose them with your privacy notices and consent requirements in mind. Installing a channel alone does not prove purchase events work.
Verify purchases, not just page views
Distinguish viewing a product, starting checkout and completing a paid order. For a Sales campaign, follow Flip's tracking guide and complete its required verification before launch. Shopify's documentation explains how its integration uses the Meta pixel and Conversions API at different data-sharing levels. Review an existing integration before adding another path. Compare reported purchases with store orders, allowing for attribution windows and reporting delays. Platform totals and order totals are not automatically the same measure.
Build distinct ads from verified material
Choose a few clear messages instead of repeating the same copy across every creative. A product demonstration can show a real feature. An offer angle can show a genuine promotion. A lifestyle angle can show the product in context without claiming unsupported outcomes. In Flip, start from the product link, review the recommended angles and edit the selected text. Upload existing photos and videos when they show the product better. Customer-uploaded videos run unchanged, so review the original file before selecting it.
Set a testing limit before launch
Decide on an affordable total test and calculate a daily allocation. Work out what an order contributes after direct costs and use that to judge an acceptable cost per purchase. Do not treat another store's results as your forecast. Use the budget calculator for cautious and optimistic scenarios, then review Flip's proposed channel minimums. Advertising spend and Flip's fee are separate. Check duration, language, account choice and exact payment total before approving the campaign.
Read early results carefully
Look at spend, purchases and cost per purchase for a consistent period. Clicks show interaction, not revenue. If there are no purchases, check tracking, checkout, stock and whether the ad accurately describes the item. A few purchases can still produce an unstable average. Record changes so you can understand which version was running. Flip's dashboard includes ad and channel results, while daily reports and weekly reviews help you follow the campaign without treating every small fluctuation as a reason to restart it.
